Real Estate Sales Pre-License Course Curriculum - Institute of Real Estate Studies

PRE-LICENSE

An individual seeking a REAL ESTATE SALESPERSON'S license in Pennsylvania must successfully complete two specific 30-hour courses: Real Estate Fundamentals and Real Estate Practice.

These courses are taught in four locations:

Camp Hill, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
York, Monday and Wednesday evenings, 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Harrisburg, Monday and Wednesday evenings, 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Waynesboro, Monday and Wednesday evenings, 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

The classes are also given in a weekend format at:

Camp Hill-Friday evening, 5:30 - 10:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. for two weekends for each course.

Real Estate Fundamentals

This course is designed to acquaint the student with the language, principles and laws that govern the business of real estate.

(30 Hours - 2 Credits)

Real Estate Practice

This course is designed to acquaint the student with the basic techniques, procedures, regulations and ethics involved in a real estate transaction along with a working knowledge of the documents used including the related mathematics.

(30 Hours - 2 Credits)

Exam Prep

This course offered monthly, is an intense review course, recommended for both salesperson and broker candidates, includes sample exam questions intended to improve one's proficiency in answering typical Real Estate License Exam questions.

(10 Hours - No Credits)

*Real Estate Campground Membership

This course is designed to acquaint the student with the basic theory of Campground Membership and sales procedures as well as fair housing laws and the ethical behavior expected in a time share transaction.

(15 Hours - 1 Credit)

*Real Estate Time Share

This course is designed to acquaint the student with the basic theory of time sharing and sales procedures as well as fair housing laws and the ethical behavior expected in a time share transaction.

(30 Hours - 2 Credits)

**Classes are given in response to demand. Call for information.
