THE STATE EXAM
The State Real Estate License Exam for
Salespersons is written and administered by
PSI Examination Services..
The multiple-choice exam is made
up of two parts.
The
Pennsylvania State Law
portion of the exam contains 30 questions
about the State License Act and Rules and
Regulations of the State Real Estate Commission.
The
Uniform portion of the exam contains 80 general questions on ownership, contracts,
brokerage, financing and valuation.
The passing score is 70% on each portion of
the exam.
To qualify for licensure, the applicant must
be at least 18 years of age, complete two
pre-license courses (Real Estate Fundamentals and
Real Estate Practice) and pass both portions of the State
Exam.
The State Exam is offered daily in a number of Centers throughout the state.
Locally it's offered in Harrisburg.
Information regarding how to register to take
the exam as well as locations and addresses
will be distributed to the students at the beginning of each pre-license course.
Upon passing both portions of the State
Exam, you may apply for licensure. An application form to do this will be provided by
the testing service when you pass the General portion of the exam.
The application,
signed by your sponsoring broker along with
your transcripts from both courses, plus application fee and completed state police criminal record check, should be
sent to the Real Estate Commission.
